Duckling picks up Hollywood star
2012-01-30 17:11:19He made boxing legend Muhammad Ali enter the ring against his own daughter in an Adidas commercial. He has made the world spin around rock star Lenny Kravitz. And he is the man behind special effects in Hollywood productions such as Apollo 13, X-Men and Pirates of the Caribbean. And now he has found a new job at Duckling in Denmark.
The filmmaker Mads Munk has a dream of turning Duckling into an international post-production film studio. With the recruitment of Mark Alan Loso, one of Hollywood’s very best within post-production of both commercials and feature films, this dream looks more realistic than ever. By adding a capacity with unprecedented strength and experience by Danish standards, Duckling now has a considerably stronger platform for attracting more international post-productions.
In the advertising world to which he has devoted his focus the past few years, his client portfolio includes Adidas, Coca-Cola, Burger King as well as countless car brands. Mark identifies the Adidas film with Muhammad and Laila Ali as one of his creative highlights within commercial films.
Mark’s career really took off when he was thrown head-first into the post-production of Apollo 13, where he worked around the clock on special effects for the movie for six months. Ever since, numerous Hollywood productions have profited from Mark’s film savvy. Mark has made post-production on films like Titanic, X-Men and Pirates of the Caribbean. However, he identifies Armageddon, Cast Away and Apollo 13 as his most demanding films regarding his post–production work.
Hardly anyone in Denmark knows his name, but it’s likely that most Danes have already seen Mark Alan Loso’s work with their own eyes. Watch – or re-watch – samples of his film work here:
